Description
The General Counsel will work remotely, handling a high-volume caseload at every stage of litigation. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Drafting and filing various legal documents
  • Negotiating optimal informal and formal recoveries
  • Representing our clients at hearings before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board
  • Responding to requests for proposals and team inquiries
  • Developing relationships with our clients by providing education and complementing our Client Services Department
  • Supervising Hearing Representatives
  • Providing legal guidance and advice
  • Contributing to our blog

Qualifications

  • Active license issued by the State Bar of California
  • At least 2 years of workers’ compensation experience preferred, though noteworthy applicants with civil litigation experience may be considered
  • Working knowledge of workers’ compensation law preferred, including trial experience
  • Ability to navigate Alternative Dispute Resolution.
  • Strong organization and case management skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects and overlapping deadlines
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, including negotiation skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and ERISA preferred
  • Ability to learn a new software interface quickly, where cases will be worked.

In addition to the core responsibilities of this position, all employees are responsible for protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of 4600Boehm’s systems and information (both physical and electronic) by adhering to the security policies outlined in the most recent versions of the Company Handbook, the Information Security Guide and Security Awareness training documents.

Salary Range

  • $115,000.00 – $130,000 per year
